URL QR Code Generator
A link QR code is the most common kind: someone points a phone at it and a web page opens. Use it on posters, packaging, slides, receipts or anywhere typing an address would be tedious. Paste the address and QRPebble checks that it is a real http or https URL, adds https:// if you left it out, and draws the code instantly. The static version is free, needs no account and works as long as the page exists. If the page might move, use a dynamic code on a free account instead: it encodes a short qrpebble.com/r/ link whose destination you can edit later, and it counts scans.

How to make it
- Paste the full address into the Website URL field, e.g. https://example.com/spring-sale.
- Check the preview. QRPebble normalises the link and warns you if it isn't a valid web address.
- Pick foreground and background colours, error-correction level, size and margin.
- Download PNG for screens and documents, or SVG for print, and scan it with your own phone before publishing.
What gets encoded
The code contains the URL exactly as normalised: scheme plus host plus path, for example https://example.com/menu. Only http and https are accepted, and a hostname without a dot is rejected, so localhost or intranet names won't encode. Every current iPhone and Android camera recognises plain URLs and offers to open them in the browser. Longer URLs add modules and make the pattern denser, so strip tracking parameters you don't need before generating, or use a dynamic code, whose payload is always a short qrpebble.com/r/<id> link.

Tips before you print
- Shorter URLs give fewer, larger modules, so the code scans from further away at the same print size.
- If you add UTM parameters, make the code dynamic so the long URL stays out of the pattern.
- Open the link on mobile data before printing; a page that only works on your office network will fail for everyone else.
- For a code read from about a metre away, print it at least 8–10 cm wide.
FAQ
Do URL QR codes expire?
A static URL code never expires because the address is stored in the pattern itself. It stops being useful only if the web page goes away.
Can I change the link after printing?
Only with a dynamic code. Create one on a free account (3 included) and edit the destination any time from your dashboard.
Why was my address rejected?
QRPebble accepts only http/https links with a real domain such as example.com. Schemes like ftp:// or bare hostnames without a dot are refused.
