Google Review QR Code Generator
Most happy customers never leave a review because finding the right screen takes too many taps. A review QR code skips the search: scanning it opens the 'write a review' dialog for your exact business on Google. QRPebble builds the link from your Google Place ID, the stable identifier Google gives every listed location, so it won't break if your business name changes or another shop has a similar name. Put it where the experience ends well: on the receipt, the table tent, the thank-you card in a delivery box, or the checkout counter.
Static code: the data is encoded directly, so it never expires and is not tracked. Need to change the link after printing or count scans? Create a free dynamic code.
How to make it
- Look up your business in Google's Place ID Finder (part of the Google Maps Platform documentation) and copy the ID, which usually starts with ChIJ.
- Paste it into the Google Place ID field; QRPebble checks the format.
- Open the generated link on your own phone to confirm your business and the review box appear.
- Style and download the code, then place it where customers finish their visit.
What gets encoded
The payload is https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=<Place ID>. It is an ordinary https link, so any phone camera can open it. Google then shows the review form for that place, and asks the person to sign in to a Google account if they aren't already. The Place ID is tied to the listing, not the name, so renaming your profile doesn't affect the code. If your business moves and Google issues a new Place ID, generate a new code, or use a dynamic code so the link can be updated.
Where people use it
- Table tents and bill folders in restaurants
- Stickers on takeaway bags and delivery boxes
- Salon, clinic or garage reception desks
- Follow-up postcards after a service visit
Tips before you print
- Google's review policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, so ask for honest feedback rather than offering discounts.
- Add a short call to action beside the code, such as 'Enjoyed your visit? Review us on Google'.
- Put the code at eye level near the exit or payment point, not on the entrance door.
- Check the Place ID belongs to the right branch if you run several locations.
FAQ
Where do I find my Google Place ID?
Use Google's Place ID Finder in the Google Maps Platform docs: search your business name and copy the ID shown on the map marker.
Do customers need a Google account?
Yes, Google requires sign-in to post a review. Most Android users and many iPhone users are already signed in.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
Static codes aren't tracked. A dynamic code on a free account shows scans for the last 30 days by date, country and device type.
