Spotify has its own scannable Spotify Codes, but they only work inside the Spotify app's scanner. A regular QR code works with any phone camera, and people without the app can still open the link in a browser. That matters on wedding tables, gig posters, café walls and gift cards where you can't assume everyone knows where Spotify's scanner is. QRPebble accepts track, album, playlist, artist, show and episode links, and strips the tracking query string from the share link so the code stays as simple as possible. How to make it

  1. In Spotify, choose Share → Copy link on the track, album, playlist, artist, show or episode.
  2. Paste it into the Spotify share link field.
  3. Check the preview: the ?si= tracking suffix has been removed.
  4. Style, download and scan-test the code.

What gets encoded

The code contains an open.spotify.com link such as https://open.spotify.com/playlist/<id>, with any ?si= share parameter removed. It is a web link, so every modern phone camera can read it. With Spotify installed, phones generally open the item in the app; without it, the Spotify web page opens and offers playback or the app. This differs from Spotify Codes, the barcode-like graphics that only Spotify's in-app scanner can read.

Tips before you print

  • Link a playlist rather than a track if you want to keep adding songs after printing.

What's the difference from a Spotify Code?

Spotify Codes only scan inside the Spotify app. This is a standard QR code any phone camera can read.

Why did the ?si= part disappear?

It's a share-tracking parameter. Removing it gives a shorter link and a simpler code without changing what opens.

Can I link a podcast?

Yes. Show and episode links from open.spotify.com are supported.
