Apple Music QR Code Generator
Musicians put QR codes on posters, vinyl sleeves, merch and gig flyers so fans can play the record on the spot. An Apple Music QR code does that for listeners on iPhone, many of whom default to Apple Music. Paste the share link for a song, album, playlist, artist or music video. QRPebble checks that it's a real music.apple.com link, removes share-tracking parameters, and keeps the one parameter that matters: the ?i= track ID that makes an album link jump to a specific song. That shortens the link, which gives a simpler pattern that scans more reliably from a poster. Pair it with a Spotify code, or use a smart link service, if your fans are split across platforms.
Static code: the data is encoded directly, so it never expires and is not tracked. Need to change the link after printing or count scans? Create a free dynamic code.
How to make it
- In Apple Music, open the song, album, playlist or artist, tap Share, then Copy Link.
- Paste it into the Apple Music share link field.
- Check the preview keeps ?i= if you linked a single song on an album.
- Download it and scan on an iPhone and an Android phone to see both experiences.
What gets encoded
The payload is a music.apple.com link such as https://music.apple.com/us/album/<name>/<id>?i=<track>. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it opens in the Music app. On Android it opens the Apple Music app if installed, or a web preview otherwise. The two-letter storefront code (us, gb, de, …) sets the default store, but Apple Music usually redirects listeners to their own country's storefront when the release is available there. Full playback requires an Apple Music subscription; non-subscribers see previews and an offer.
Where people use it
- Album release posters and flyers
- Vinyl sleeves, CD inserts and merch tags
- Playlists for shops, gyms and events
- Wedding and party playlists shared with guests
Tips before you print
- Link the album with ?i= for a single; fans land on the song and can explore the album.
- If you have fans on several platforms, place a Spotify code beside it or use a multi-platform landing page.
- Use a dynamic code on long-lived posters so you can switch to the next release later.
FAQ
Will Android users be able to listen?
If they have Apple Music for Android, yes. Otherwise they see a web preview with an offer to get the app.
Why did the preview drop part of my link?
Share-tracking parameters are removed to shorten the code. The track ID (?i=) is kept.
Does the country in the link matter?
Apple Music usually redirects listeners to their own storefront if the release is available there.
