Plain Text QR Code Generator
A text QR code stores words directly in the pattern: no website, no server, no internet connection needed to read it. When scanned, the phone simply shows the text. That makes it useful for equipment labels, serial numbers, short instructions, puzzle clues or a message hidden in a greeting card. QRPebble accepts up to 2,000 characters, but the pattern gets denser with every character, so short text makes a far more reliable code. Because nothing is fetched online, the content can't be changed or tracked after you print it, and it keeps working in basements, on planes or anywhere signal is poor.

How to make it
- Type or paste your message into the Text box; line breaks are kept.
- Keep an eye on the preview. If the pattern looks very dense, shorten the text.
- Choose error correction: L or M leaves more room for long text, Q or H better tolerates scuffs.
- Download and scan-test at the size you will actually print.
What gets encoded
The payload is your text, byte for byte, with no prefix or wrapper. Non-English characters are stored as UTF-8, which most modern phone cameras and scanner apps decode correctly, though some very old readers may show garbled accents. Because there is no URL scheme, phones generally display the text or offer to copy or search it rather than open anything. If your text happens to start with something like http:// or tel:, scanners will treat it as that action instead of plain text.

Tips before you print
- Under about 300 characters is a comfortable limit for small labels; 2,000 is the hard maximum here.
- Text codes can't be edited after printing, so proofread before you download.
- Use error-correction level H on labels exposed to grease or abrasion, and print larger to compensate.
- Test with both iPhone and Android cameras, since they present plain text differently.
